Wranglers Sign Rookie Schwarz to ATO

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced today the team has signed defenseman John Schwarz to an amateur tryout agreement (ATO). The team also announced that defenseman Mat Robinson has been released from his ATO.

Schwarz is expected to make his professional debut on Friday night after finishing a four-year career at Michigan Tech. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder played in 126 games for Michigan Tech, scoring one goal and 12 assists for 13 points. The Calgary, AB native played three seasons in the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) from 2002-2005. In 172 games, Schwarz scored 13 goals and added 43 assists for 52 points. The 24-year old also racked up 649 penalty minutes in three AJHL seasons.

The Wranglers will host the Alaska Aces at the Orleans Arena on Friday at 7:30 PM.
