LETTER: Clinton glosses over immigration’s costs

To the editor:

A pandering and mindless Hillary Clinton called for comprehensive immigration reform when she visited Rancho High School for a round-table discussion (“Clinton calls for immigration reform,” May 6 Review-Journal). “It is at heart a family issue,” Mrs. Clinton declared.

What she did not say is that unfettered illegal immigration is an issue of U.S. citizenship, sovereignty and the rule of law — not to mention an issue of national security. You can be certain that at her round-table discussion, nothing was said about immigration law enforcement or the immeasurable harm being done to our schools, emergency rooms, jails and prisons by massive illegal immigration.

What matters to Mrs. Clinton is the fundamental power transformation that would result from giving the vote to 12 million to 20 million future Democratic U.S. citizens who are currently violating our labor, tax, identity theft and immigration laws. Needless to say, Mrs. Clinton also supports President Barack Obama’s unlawful executive amnesty decree, which provides Social Security numbers, work permits and lucrative income tax child credits to 5 million unauthorized aliens.

It is clear that a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for a nation-wrecking, open borders/amnesty immigration policy.
