Ole Miss starting safety Trae Elston and a teammate were arrested early Thursday in Oxford, Miss., the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reported.
Elston was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to a booking log. Wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow also faces a disorderly conduct charge.
“We are gathering facts on the matter,” Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said.
In Elston’s third year as a starter in 2014, he had 59 tackles, one tackle and one forced fumble.
Stringfellow transferred from Washington after he was suspended for his alleged involvement in a post-Super Bowl brawl in Seattle. He sat out the 2014 season at Ole Miss and could challenge for a starting job in 2015.
