3-time Boston Marathon women’s champ banned 2 years for doping
Boston Marathon women’s champion Rita Jeptoo has been banned two years from competition for doping.
Athletics Kenya announced Friday that Jeptoo, who has won the Boston Marathon three times and her second Chicago Marathon in October, tested positive for the blood-booster EPO in an out-of-competition test conducted in September.
Jeptoo’s case was heard before a Kenya Athletics commission on Thursday. She won the Boston Marathon in 2006, 2013, and 2014.
