51s win at Sacramento for eighth victory in 10 games

Wilmer Flores hit a two-run single, Brandon Allen homered, and three 51s pitchers combined on a seven-hitter as Las Vegas beat the Sacramento River Cats 4-1 on Friday night in Sacramento, Calif.

Giancarlo Alvarado (3-3) allowed one run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings, working around five walks, to help the 51s (48-33) to their eighth win in 10 games.

Chasen Bradford, a Silverado High School and College of Southern Nevada product, followed with 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Buddy Carlyle pitched a perfect ninth for his second save.

Flores put the 51s ahead 2-0 in the fourth with his bases-loaded hit, and Allen launched a leadoff homer in the fifth to make the score 3-0. Matt den Dekker drilled a leadoff triple in the eighth and scored on Matt Reynolds’ RBI ground-out.

Reynolds, a second baseman, is batting .429 (12-for-26) in eight games for Las Vegas since getting called up from Double-A Binghamton.
