Aces jump to early lead, roll to 9-5 win over 51s
The Reno Aces rocked 51s starter David Purcey for four runs in each of the first two innings en route to a 9-5 Pacific Coast League home victory Saturday night.
Purcey (3-3) gave up all nine runs, on seven hits and six walks in five innings, and his ERA jumped from 3.76 to 4.52.
Jason Lane hit his seventh home run of the season for Las Vegas (41-49), a two-run shot in the eighth. Howie Clark drove in two runs with a sixth-inning single, and Joe Inglett had three of the 51s' 10 hits.
Josh Whitesell hit a three-run homer for Reno (46-44).
