Little, ex-Hawaii basketball coach and 25-year Las Vegas resident, dies at 75

Larry Little, a former Hawaii basketball coach and 25-year Las Vegas resident, died Feb. 25 at Summerlin Hospital Medical Center from complications after undergoing surgery to replace a pacemaker. He was 75.

Little coached the Rainbows from 1976 to 1985, and his 103 wins rank third in Hawaii history. In the early 1970s, Little was the coach at Centenary College in Shreveport, La., where he recruited NBA great Robert Parrish to play for the Gents.

Little was a close friend of late UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at the Suncoast.
