Nance’s basket in third overtime sends Wyoming past Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. — Larry Nance Jr. scored 21 points, including the go-ahead basket in the third overtime, to spark 25th-ranked Wyoming to a 70-65 victory over Fresno State on Saturday.

Nance missed two free throws with one second left in the second overtime for the Cowboys (16-3, 5-1 Mountain West), who were coming off a home loss to San Diego State that snapped a seven-game win streak.

Nance’s jumper with 1:05 left put Wyoming ahead 67-65 with 1:02 left, and Charles Hankerson Jr. sealed the win with a 3-pointer with 14 seconds remaining.

Josh Adams had 16 points for Wyoming. Paul Watson scored 19 for the Bulldogs (9-10, 4-2).

■ Utah State 71, Air Force 59 — At Logan, Utah, Chris Smith hit 6 of 7 3-point attempts and scored 20 points to lift the Aggies (10-7, 3-2 MW) past the Falcons (8-9, 1-5).

Jalen Moore scored 15 for Utah State, his 15th consecutive double-digit game, and Darius Perkins had 11 points and 10 assists. Zach Kocur scored a career-high 20 points for Air Force.

The Aggies hit 13 of 23 3-point attempts and shot 54 percent from the field.

■ Colorado State 70, San Jose State 41 — At San Jose, Calif., reserve John Gillon scored a team-high 14 points for the Rams (17-2, 4-2 MW) in their rout of the Spartans (2-16, 0-6), who shot 20.8 percent (10 of 48) from the field.
