NBA Summer League Day 8 results

Friday’s results

Spurs 90, Kings 86 (OT) — Dejounte Murray’s baseline floater with 2.2 seconds got San Antonio even and forced overtime. The Spurs scored the first five points of the two-minute OT and held on to finish summer league play 4-1. Murray finished with 20 points. The Kings, who went winless in Las Vegas at 0-5, were led by Skal Labissiere with 19 points.

D-League Select 88, Pelicans 76 — New Orleans (1-4) squandered a 12-point second-quarter lead as the D-Leaguers (3-2) stormed back with a 31-17 third quarter to take command. Quinn Cook led the Selects with 19 points while Jameel McKay had a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds off the bench for the Pelicans.

Trail Blazers 80, Celtics 75 — Pat Connaughton scored 23 points as Portland wrapped up its week in Las Vegas 2-3. Boston (1-4) was just 10 of 16 from the foul line and committed 20 turnovers. Jaylen Brown, the Celtics’ top draft pick, played 37 minutes and led Boston with 21 points. Jordan Mickey had a double-double for the Celtics with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Rockets 92, Bucks 89 — Houston shot 52 percent from the floor and finished summer league play at 2-3. Montrezl Harrell led the Rockets with 20 points with Sam Dekker and K.J. McDaniels scoring 17 and 15 points, respectively. Milwaukee (1-4) was led by RaShad James with 19 points. Ex-UNLV guard Rashad Vaughn had 13 points.

Hawks 89, Grizzlies 79 — Bryce Cotton scored 18 points as Atlanta led virtually start to finish to close out its week in Las Vegas 3-2. Brandon Ashley added 17 for the Hawks, who dominated Memphis on the glass, 44-25. Vince Hunter had 18 points off the bench to lead Memphis (2-3).

76ers 74, Heat 66 — Philadelphia (2-3) ended on a winning note despite 19 turnovers. The Sixers outrebounded Miami 44-34 and were led by Shawn Long with 18 points and 15 from rookie Ben Simmons. Damion Lee led Miami (3-3) with 17 points.

Mavericks 80, Warriors 74 —Dallas (3-3) led by as many as 18 points in the second quarter and outrebounded Golden State 32-21 in a sloppy game that had 44 combined turnovers. Chane Behanan led the Mavericks with 14 points. Former Findlay Prep player Winston Shepard had 17 points for the Warriors, who were 1-4 for the week.

Jazz 92, Lakers 88 —Marcus Paige made one of two free throws with 12.3 seconds to go to put Utah up 91-88. Anthony Brown’s 3-point attempt to tie with 3.8 seconds remaining was off the mark as the Jazz held on to finish its week in Las Vegas 3-3. Los Angeles (3-2) played without D’Angelo Russell, who will remain in Las Vegas and play with the USA Basketball Select team next week when Team USA trains at the Mendenhall Center. Larry Nance Jr., who was injured in the final minute Thursday against Cleveland, also did not play Friday. Nance sprained his right hand and wrist but X-rays for any break were negative. Rookie Brandon Ingram led the Lakers with 22 points. Joel Bolomboy led Utah with 20 points.

Star of the day

Shawn Long posted a double-double, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to help Philadelphia get past Miami as the 76ers wrapped up summer league play with a victory.

Local spotlight

Rosco Allen hasn’t had much of an opportunity to play at the summer league but the Bishop Gorman High School graduate took advantage of extended minutes Friday as he played 23 minutes for Golden State and finished with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor in the Warriors’ loss to Dallas.

Milwaukee Bucks guard Jabari Parker was in the Thomas & Mack Center to watch his team Friday against the Houston Rockets. But instead of sitting in the stands, Parker took a seat on the floor behind the basket where he used a camera to shoot the action in what appears to be a new hobby. =
