1 When I’m Calling U - Claimed for $16K and run right back for $16K; Kent Desormeaux-Bob Hess tandem have been lethal this meet.
6 Speckles - Almost got the job done as a ship and win horse in last; handled the synthetic surface with aplomb.
Long Shot - 2 Whodoo Pirate
Race 2 - 1 mile, Purse $20,000, Claiming $8,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
3 Cayanna - Claimed by Jeff Bonde for $8K and run right back for $8K; has many back races fast enough to upset these.
7 Silk in Silver - Claimed for $12.5K and run for $8K, now that’s a class drop; has speed to lead for Rafael Bejarano.
Long Shot - 4 Igotnosixes
Race 3 - 1 mile, Purse $75,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Iconic Spirit - Getting long in the tooth, but like that Rafael Bejarano remains loyal; he is in a dogfight for the riding title.
6 Star Act - Tom Proctor may have lost his stable rider, Gary Stevens, but wins keep coming; Drayden Van Dyke rides for his mentor.
Long Shot - 7 Temeeku
Race 4 - 5 furlongs, Purse $28,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
1 Misty Warrior - When the ones with experience don’t look so good, the FTS deserve a second look; from the live Peter Eurton barn.
13 Lady Dash - Good race in the Pick 5 and Pick 6; absolutely wide open even if you can see the odds in leg 1 of Pick 6.
Long Shot - 6 Don’t Tell Abbey
Race 5 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $77,000, Optional claiming 440,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
6 West Riding - If Iconic Spirit wins race 3, this gal gets moved up a couple notches; no secret when 4/5 odds in victorious career debut.
1 Tiz a Kiss - Nothing like saving ground at Del Mar to increase your chances of victory; can’t say enough how Kent Desormeaux is riding.
Long Shot - 5 Mum’s Truckee
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $43,000, Optional claiming $50,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
8 Wedding Blush - Ran a better than looked third in the Wine Country; would be no shock to show further improvement in here.
7 Myrna Lou - Has held her own since shipping in from Phoenix; Molly Pearson has a history of sending sharp horses to SoCal.
Long Shot - 9 Shezapiranha
Race 7 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 24 feet), Purse $43,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
9 Sir Macho - Ran miserably in last, so Bill Spawr takes the blinkers off; would not be shocked with a solid form reversal today.
1 Romar Success - Is he named after coach Lorenzo Romar?; this rail on turf can be a benefit as saving ground is essential.
Long Shot - 12 Storm the Channel
Race 8 - 6 furlongs, $150,000 Generous Portion, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
4 Desert Steel - That was a sharp looking MSW win last time out; handled the synthetic surface like it was no big deal.
9 Lost Bus - Solid second as a 3/5 chalk in the CTBA; don’t mind the parking lot post as Victor Espinoza can sit in the catbird seat.
Long Shot - 7 Easter Fever
Race 9 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $38,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
1 Daddy’s Duo - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; the two Desormeaux’s have been lethal this meet.
7 Mucho Blessings - Hasn’t shown much yet, but this huge class drop can be an eye opener; Peter Eurton barn showing signs of life.
