Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $56,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds
2 Master Appeal - Was flattered when Pure Loyalty won next time out; his Beyer speed figure was fast enough to win a stakes.
7 Del Mar Sunset - Bob Baffert has an uncoupled entry, both fast enough to win on merit; Smokin’ Bernie is the longer price horse.
Long Shot - 6 Smokin’ Bernie
Race 2 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $30,000, Claiming $32,000, 4-year-olds and up
7 Vibrato Jazz - Chased world record holder Bright Thought in last; like the cut back in distance and major class relief.
4 Atticus Jack - Two solid seconds in a row; 9-of-15 in the money on grass, fits well in a competitive field.
Long Shot - 5 Slammer Time
Race 3 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $32,000, Claiming $25,000, 4-year-olds and up
6 Yes It’s Snowing - Won and then was claimed by Peter Miller; is well spotted where a repeat race is more than plausible.
2 Courtside - Speedball will again play catch me if you can; his tendency to give it up late is incredibly frustrating.
Long Shot - 5 Plenny of Henny
Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), $70,000 Runaway, Fillies, 3-year-olds
1 Upbeat Mood - Did everything but win last time in a strong run; hate the rail down the hill, but like her early speed.
4 Wednesday - Exits her MSW win, now facing winners for the first time; this is a significant class rise tonight.
Long Shot - 6 Jubliant Girl
Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $31,000, Maiden claiming 450,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
2 Rich in Tradition - Was flattered when Bikini Bottom won next out; speed to lead or to follow close up.
7 Rockin Cowgirl - Speedball who looks a lot like Courtside; will take them as far as she can go, then defaults late.
Long Shot - 6 Zuzu’s Petals
Race 6 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $58,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, 4-year-olds and up
2 Dixieland Blues - Came up a foot short in last in a furious rally; Joe Talamo taking over with the money shot.
8 Johnny Be Mine - Always like the parking lot post down the hillside turf course; has tremendous speed for Kevin Krigger.
Long Shot - 1 Pocket Prince
Race 7 - 6 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Claiming $16,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
7 One Fast Frog - Gutsy win in last when she lost the lead late, then regained it; class relief is suspicous down to $16K price.
4 Mary Contrary - This choice is for forgiving handicappers only; draw a line thru last and her resume looks decent.
Long Shot - 6 No Tricks for Jack
Race 8 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), $100,000 Las Cienegas, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
6 Mizdirection - Champion mare is a perfect 4-for-4 wins down the hillside turf course; reunited with David Flories.
1 Purim’s Dancer - Has been developed nicely by Tom Proctor; has earned this first start in a graded stakes.
Long Shot - 2 Schiaparelli
Race 9 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, 3-year-olds and up
5 Dockweiler - Has done two pop and stop races; like the rider switch to Edwin Maldonado, may not stop with these slowpokes.
6 Shackbamalama - Mike Pender adding blinkers on for this; figures to be a short priced chalk to run on late.
Long Shot - 7 Just Your Shadow
Best Bet - 6 Mizdirection (race 8)
