Boulder City’s Garvin, Huxford pin down 3A state titles

Clinton Garvin captured the 103-pound title, and Bleu Huxford won a championship at 215 pounds to lead Boulder City to 129 points and a third-place finish at the Class 3A state wrestling tournament Saturday at Spanish Springs in Sparks.
Garvin pinned Erik Brooks of Lowry in 3 minutes, 3 seconds.
Huxford grabbed his title after edging Spring Creek's Tyler Usko, 3-2.
The Eagles' Tyler Washburn (140), Frankie Badgely (171) and Brandon Foster (189) finished second in their weight classes. Brandon Gonzalez (112) and Kyle Erickson (285) each added a third-place finish for Boulder City.
Lowry cruised to the team title with 200 points.
Moapa Valley finished fifth with 75 points behind 135-pound champion Shae Bryant. Pirates teammate Trevor Durham (152) placed second.
Virgin Valley's McKay Magoon won the 145-pound championship, and teammate Taylor Fails was second at 130.
CLASS 2A
Laughlin had four wrestlers each place in the top three to finish fourth with 76 points.
Cody McGeshick won by pin at 171 pounds, defeating Eureka's Jack Ashcraft in 2:14.
Jimmy Minniear (135) and Jake Hodges (140) each added a second-place finish for Laughlin, and JaQuan Lakes (285) took third.
Indian Springs' Dakota Sargent won the individual title at 145, and teammate Adam Reinke was third at 215.
