Knockout Night at the D returns with several Las Vegas boxers

The Knockout Night at the D series returns to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Friday, and it’s filled with local flavor.

Four Las Vegas boxers are scheduled to compete at the outdoor venue. The first bell is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., with tickets starting at $15. The televised portion of the card will air at 8 p.m. on CBS Sports Network, with longtime boxing analyst Al Bernstein and wrestling commentator Jim Ross calling the action.

The main event pits Emmanuel “Renegade” Robles against Steve “The Dragon” Claggett in a 10-round junior welterweight matchup. The co-main event features two unbeaten junior middleweights, as Rolando “Rola” Garza battles Neeco “The Rooster” Macias.

“The opportunity that Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions and CBS Sports Network has presented me has boosted my confidence to another level,” Garza said. “I have never been more confident in my skills, my team and training. I’m going to show Las Vegas and the rest of country what my talent brings into the ring.”

Rising Las Vegan Jeremy “J-Flash” Nichols (5-0) opens the televised card against Steve Belmonte in a four-round welterweight bout. Nichols is 3-0 in Knockout Night at the D competition.

The card also features a women’s junior flyweight bout between Las Vegan Marina Ramirez (1-0) and New Jerseys’ Rachel Sazoff.

Las Vegan Randy Moreno (3-0) faces Gaige Ireland, an Irishman residing in Australia. Local 18-year-old Max Ornelas (3-0) meets Johnathan Quiroz.
