Cheyenne-North Las Vegas reaches Little League semis

Trevor Berkemeyer homered, doubled and drove in three runs, and Ryan Merino had two singles and three RBIs as Cheyenne-North Las Vegas advanced to the semifinals of the Little League Baseball West Regional in San Bernardino, Calif., with a 16-7 victory over Southern California representative Orange on Wednesday night.

Cheyenne (2-2) will be the No. 4 seed in Friday's semifinals and will face Northern California representative and No. 1 seed Petaluma (4-0) at 6 p.m. No. 2 seed Tucson, Ariz. (3-1), will play No. 3 seed Waianae, Hawaii (2-2), in the other semifinal at 2 p.m.
