Clutch hit lifts Rancho to victory

Brandon Pletsch delivered a two-out RBI double in the top of the eighth inning to give Rancho's baseball team an 8-7 win over host Del Sol on Tuesday.

Kevin Kline was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs for the Rams. Rancho led 7-5, but the Dragons scored two runs in the sixth to force the extra inning.

Green Valley 13, Las Vegas 6 -- At Las Vegas, Jordan Van Hoosier was 3-for-4 with three runs to help the Gators beat the Wildcats.

Brett Harrison and Tyler Blair each added two hits, and Matt Harrison hit a grand slam to highlight a seven-run third inning.

Winning pitcher Josh Bray allowed one earned run in 3 1/3 innings of relief and struck out six.

Tate Chauncey was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs for Las Vegas.

Durango 9, Arbor View 3 -- At Arbor View, Jayson McClaren was 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Trailblazers past the Aggies.

McClaren also pitched the distance, allowing two earned runs on eight hits, to get the win.

Ryan Kuehl added a two-run homer for Durango.

Arbor View's Dave McClure was 3-for-4.

Bonanza 7, Cimarron-Memorial 3 -- At Bonanza, Chris Antoku was 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs to lead the Bengals to victory over the Spartans.

Nick Bryant added two hits and two runs, and Kris Bryant allowed one earned run on four hits in six innings to get the win.

Cimarron's Taylor Doyle was 2-for-2 with a double, a homer, two RBIs and two runs.

Basic 5, Spring Valley 4 -- At Basic, Marcus Romero was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Brett Wellman drove in two runs to lead the Wolves past the Grizzlies.

Cameron Brooks was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Spring Valley.

Silverado 17, Eldorado 4 -- At Eldorado, Trevor Kirk hit for the cycle as the Skyhawks routed the Sundevils.

Kirk was 4-for-5 with three runs and six RBIs. Jordan Keegan added three hits, including two doubles, and three runs for Silverado.

Bishop Gorman 22, Centennial 2 -- At Centennial, Jeff Malm and Brandon Garcia homered to help the Gaels rip the Bulldogs.

Malm had five hits and drove in five runs for the Gaels. Garcia had four RBIs for Gorman, which had 19 hits.

Valley 14, Mojave 2 -- At Mojave, Dayan Oses went 2-for-2 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Matt Newark was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs as the Vikings beat the Rattlers in five innings.

Larry Valdez and Charles Huang combined on a one-hitter for Valley.

Liberty 9, Desert Pines 5 -- At Desert Pines, Mike Cyrkiel went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI to help the Patriots beat the Jaguars.

David Kinan was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Liberty.

Cheyenne 14, Foothill 6 -- At Foothill, Andrew Perez went 3-for-5 with a double, triple and three RBIs, and Steven Abbott was 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Desert Shields over the Falcons.

Aaron Whittaker went 2-for-3 for Foothill.

Coronado 21, Chaparral 1 -- At Chaparral, Justin Souza was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead the Cougars to a lopsided win.

Andrew Gans was 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple and three RBIs, and Josh Bryan had a grand slam in his only at-bat. Coronado's Brandon Evans went 3-for-3 with three stolen bases.

Legacy 7, Tech 3 -- At Legacy, Joey Lauria went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to help the Longhorns down the Roadrunners.

Austin Christian was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Legacy.

Tech's Hugo Enriquez was 3-for-4 with a double.

Sierra Vista 6, Palo Verde 2 -- At Palo Verde, Jake Hagar and Dylan Krasn each went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Lions past the Panthers.

Sierra Vista scored three runs in the first in support of Thomas Godfrey, who tossed a seven-hitter.

Canyon Springs 24, Western 9 -- At Western, Brady Smith had five hits and five RBIs as the Pioneers defeated the Warriors.

Western's Aubrey Dezarn had four hits, including a double and a triple.

Keenan Shumpert homered for the Warriors.

Shadow Ridge 30, Clark 9 -- At Clark, the Mustangs scored 15 runs in the sixth inning to pull away from the Chargers.

Shadow Ridge led 15-3 entering the bottom of the fifth, but Clark scored three runs in the inning to temporarily avoid ending the game on the run rule and force the sixth inning.

All 15 Mustangs who played scored at least one run.

Wooster 11, Eldorado 4 -- At Eldorado, Victor Mendoza went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to power the Colts.

Mountain View 17, Indian Springs 9 -- At Indian Springs, Ryan Jarzombeck had a double and an RBI triple in a 10-run sixth inning that powered the Saints past the Thunderbirds.

Brandon Carr and Alex Watson each had three hits and two RBIs for Mountain View.

Moapa Valley 15, The Meadows 5 -- At Overton, Matt Vallet had four hits and drove in four runs to lead the Pirates over the Mustangs.

Moapa Valley broke the game open with 10 runs in the fourth inning.
