Coronado erupts late to rout Sierra Vista

What was a good pitching matchup between Coronado's Brandon Evans and Sierra Vista's Kiel Harmon certainly didn't end that way.
Coronado scored eight runs in the final two innings on the way to an 8-1 road win over the Lions on Friday.
The Lions made four errors in the final two innings, allowing eight unearned runs.
Andrew Gans' two-run homer highlighted a six-run seventh inning for Coronado.
Evans threw a solid game for the Cougars, allowing three hits and striking out nine, in getting the complete-game victory.
Harmon was the tough-luck loser, scattering seven hits in 6 1/3 innings. Harmon struck out six and walked three.
Brian Parrish had three of Coronado's eight hits.
• Green Valley 6, Arbor View 3 -- At Arbor View, Nick Melino went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lift the Gators.
David McClure was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Aggies.
• Spring Valley 12, Shadow Ridge 1 -- At Shadow Ridge, Perry Martin had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs to propel the Grizzlies.
Chase LaComb and German Barajas each added two hits for the Grizzlies. Spring Valley's Tyler Anderson pitched a five-hitter, striking out seven.
• Foothill 12, Chaparral 1 -- At Foothill, Dylan Ellis was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Falcons, who scored all of their runs in the third and fourth innings to down Chaparral.
Kyle Moyes was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Jordan Mathis added a double and three RBIs for Foothill.
Falcons pitchers Kevin Wibiral and Jake Ferdinand combined to allow one hit.
• Moapa Valley 11, Western 1 -- At Overton, Dallin Seely and Tyler Williams combined on a two-hitter for Moapa Valley, which scored the game's final 11 runs.
Bobby Vallet had three hits and two RBIs for the Pirates.
• Canyon Springs 3, Mojave 2 -- At Canyon Springs, Brady Smith was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and no outs in the fifth inning, forcing in Demetruis Pipkin with the winning run for the Pioneers.
The game was called because of darkness after Pipkin scored. Josh Dahilig tossed a five-hitter for Canyon Springs.
• Legacy 8, Valley 3 -- At Valley, Tyler Thurston's single plated the go-ahead run in a six-run sixth inning as the Longhorns prevailed.
The game was called after six innings because of darkness.
Joey Lauria was 3-for-3 for the Longhorns.
• Rancho 13, Cheyenne 8 -- At Cheyenne, James Cammack went 3-for-5 with a triple, double and three RBIs to lead the Rams in a game shortened to five innings by darkness.
Rancho's Eric Holdren and Blake Pletsch each went 2-for-4.
Jorge Paula went 2-for-3 with a double and a home run for the Desert Shields.
• Clark 8, Desert Pines 5 -- At Desert Pines, Tom Hoag allowed five runs in six innings and also doubled to lead the Chargers.
Johnny Love tripled and scored two runs for the Jaguars.
• Las Vegas 13, San Luis (Ariz.) 0 -- At Yuma, Ariz., Miguel Ortiz allowed one hit in five innings to lead the Wildcats to a win at the Cibola Invitational.
Wes Grass and Tate Chauncey each had two hits and three RBIs.
• Las Vegas 11, Sinagua (Ariz.) 0 -- At Yuma, Ariz., Jordan Gonzales allowed three hits and struck out seven in five innings for the Wildcats.
Marvin Campbell had two hits, including his second homer of the day, and three RBIs.
Trevor Lowe had three hits for Las Vegas, which plays Centennial in the semifinals at 10 a.m. today.
• Centennial 4, Southwest (Ariz.) 2 -- At Yuma, Ariz., Trevor Goff went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI to lead the Bulldogs.
• Centennial 5, Cibola (Ariz.) 1 -- At Yuma, Ariz., Dylan Giesler pitched a four-hitter, striking out 10, and the Bulldogs broke a 1-1 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
• Cimarron-Memorial 10, Provo (Utah) 1 -- At St. George, Utah, Keifer Williams and Kas Smith each hit two home runs for the Spartans.
Williams had six RBIs, including a fifth-inning grand slam. Smith was 4-for-4 with two RBIs.
Bradley Oswald and Anthony Serrano combined on a two-hitter for the Spartans.
• Calvary Chapel 7, Faith Lutheran 3 -- At the College of Southern Nevada, Cameron Harper keyed a four-run fifth inning with a two-run single to help the Lions win.
Zach Bergiels had a double, a single and an RBI for Calvary Chapel. Cory Welch pitched a four-hitter, striking out 13, to get the win.
• Basic 15, Littlerock (Calif.) 0 -- At Basic, Josh Ross and Mike Feher each had a single and a triple as the Wolves rolled to a five-inning win.
Marcus Romero drove in two runs for the Wolves.
• Durango 6, Reno 3 -- At Reno, Aaron Kurcz struck out 11 in six innings to lead the Trailblazers over the Huskies.
Kurcz allowed two earned runs on six hits as Durango advanced to the championship game of the Mike Bearman Tournament.
Durango's Zach Hollenback was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
• Pahranagat Valley 3, Mountain View 1 -- At Alamo, Evan Entler and Tyler Mitchum combined on a no-hitter, but the Saints fell to the Panthers in the Pahranagat Valley Tournament.
• Mountain View 7, Carlin 2 -- At Alamo, Entler had a double and an RBI and struck out four of the five batters he faced in relief to lead the Saints.
