Davies, Hartsock fuel BYU victory
MALIBU, Calif. -- Brandon Davies and Noah Hartsock scored 29 and 20 points, respectively, and Brigham Young defeated Pepperdine 77-64 on Saturday.
Davies made 15 of 18 free throws, and Charles Abouo supplied 15 points and nine rebounds for the Cougars (17-5, 6-2 West Coast Conference). BYU outscored Pepperdine 29-8 from the foul line.
Taylor Darby led Pepperdine (7-12, 1-7) with 21 points and eight rebounds. The Waves pulled to within 53-49 with 9:39 to play, but the Cougars answered with six straight points.
■ UNR 74, Fresno State 61 -- At Reno, Deonte Burton scored 18 points, Malik Story added 17 and the Wolf Pack (15-3, 4-0) remained undefeated in Western Athletic Conference play. Dario Hunt supplied 13 points and 12 rebounds for UNR. Tyler Johnson scored 17 points to lead Fresno State (9-11, 1-3).
