Ex-Gael Chaisson says he’s following terms of sentence
A former Bishop Gorman High School football player appeared in District Court on Wednesday to assure a judge he is following through with the terms of his sentence.
Justin Chaisson pleaded no contest to four gross misdemeanors last year in connection with a March 2009 battery incident involving his ex-girlfriend.
Chaisson told Judge Stefany Miley that he has completed the 120 hours of community service and attended half of the 52 domestic battery classes he was sentenced to in May.
Chaisson still owes the victim nearly $1,800 in restitution. He is on probation for a maximum of three years. If he violates probation, he could be sentenced to up to four years in prison.
Chaisson, a member of the Oklahoma football team, pleaded no contest to two counts of false imprisonment, one count of conspiracy to commit false imprisonment and/or coercion, and one count of malicious destruction of property.
Chaisson is scheduled to be back in court in May for another progress report.
