Findlay Prep rides Ashley’s 30-point effort

Brandon Ashley had his second 30-point game in four days Friday to help Findlay Prep's basketball team to a 92-79 victory over visiting Stoneridge Prep (Calif.).
Ashley, a 6-foot-9-inch senior forward headed to Arizona, added eight rebounds and three blocks. He also scored 30 in a season-opening win over Impact Academy on Tuesday.
Anthony Bennett, a senior forward, added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Pilots (2-0), who led 51-42 at halftime and made 5 of 9 3-pointers. Findlay Prep was 25 of 39 on free throws.
Senior guard Amedeo Della Valle scored 13 points, and classmate Winston Shepard had 10 points and nine assists for Findlay Prep.
Dustin Watts paced Stoneridge Prep with 34 points.
The teams will play again at 1 p.m. Sunday at Findlay Prep.
