FISHING REPORT

LAKE MEAD -- Windy conditions have made fishing difficult, yet boating anglers continue to catch fair-sized stripers in the Vegas Wash area. Baits such as cut anchovies, sardines and squid have been catching fish.

Boulder Beach has been slow for shore anglers due to the wind conditions. Anglers at Stewart's Point continue to reel in stripers caught on anchovies and cut baits.

Boating anglers are urged to use caution in high winds.

LAKE MOHAVE -- Trout fishing at Willow Beach was slow last weekend, with a few fish caught near the Jumbo Wash area. Anglers fishing for stripers downriver caught fish weighing from 5 to 28 pounds using AC plugs, Castaic swimbaits and other lures resembling trout.

Despite the winds, striper fishing at Cottonwood Cove remains fair to good for shore and boat anglers. Anglers trolling with cut bait continue to catch stripers in the 2- to 6-pound range, and catfish and smaller stripers have been caught while still-fishing. Largemouth and smallmouth bass have been taking top-water and shallow-diving lures.

URBAN PONDS -- Trout anglers have been successful using PowerBait, small lures and flies. One angler caught a 5-pound rainbow trout at Sunset Park last weekend.

Catfish plants should begin late next week.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Fishing continues to improve for shore and boat anglers at Adams-McGill Reservoir. Trout plants in Haymeadow and Cold Springs reservoirs have provided good fishing for planters as well as last fall's carry-over trout.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing has been fair to good using worms and PowerBait.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Anglers casting PowerBait have been catching rainbow trout off the dam.
