FISHING REPORT

■ LAKE MEAD -- Anglers in the Vegas Wash area are finding slow to fair success for stripers and catfish using anchovies. Anglers have caught largemouth and smallmouth bass in coves in the Vegas Wash and Overton arms. Fishing for stripers and catfish is fair to good near Echo Bay for those still-fishing or trolling with cut anchovies.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Striper fishing has been slow. Catfish are hitting a variety of stink baits fished on the bottom. Anglers have found good action for largemouth and smallmouth bass. Fish have been biting south of Cottonwood Cove early in the morning.

■ URBAN PONDS -- Anglers continue to catch catfish after the plant two weeks ago. But catching rates have dropped from good to fair. Popular baits include night crawlers, shrimp, stink baits and chicken liver. Two lucky fly-fishers at Floyd Lamb Park caught catfish on hare's ear nymphs while fishing for trout. Trout fishing continues to be fair at Floyd Lamb and Sunset parks.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Trout fishing has been fair when the weather cooperates. Anglers are using a variety of techniques to catch fish, including PowerBait, lures and flies. Bass fishing has been slow but should pick up as daytime temperatures warm.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Despite the cold weather and recent precipitation, fishing has been very good. Anglers have caught trout using a variety of baits, including PowerBait, marshmallows, worms, lures and flies. The average rainbow trout has been 13½ inches long, with a few tiger trout in the creel as well.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing has been good using the same baits as at Eagle Valley. Though the crappie and bass fishing hasn't turned on yet, one crappie was caught Friday.
