TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK
By Richard Eng
Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $37,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Sister Lucy - Beaten favorite took all the heat early before tiring late; can find things her own way today.
Unworldly Heat - Logical chalk off a solid career debut; the key will be if she bounces or repeat her race.
Long Shot - Ms. Olympio
Race 2 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $25,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Ballestero - Starting to show seconditis, but at least versus good company; Garrett Gomez remains loyal.
Oceanography - East coast underachiever from Bobby Frankel barn; change of scenario may help, it can't hurt.
Long Shot - Here Comes Buster
Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $13,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up
Tice - Big class edge points out this Jeff Mullins trainee; he is inherently faster than all of these.
Rush With Thunder - Has tactical speed, but may be better suited to sit a trip; can end up being a jockey's race.
Long Shot - Gary's Got Rhythm
Race 4 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $37,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Streetscape - Got a perfect education in career debut; Polanco switches to Rafael Bejarano for the money shot.
Moonlight Tizzy - Been well bet in both career starts; suspect she can wake up at a square price for Jon Court.
Long Shot - Ocean Style
Race 5 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $51,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds and up
Mostacolli Mort - Exits a pair of grade 1 stakes for this easier spot; like that Bejarano takes the call.
Rackateer - Got a good test drive in last off a 4-month hiatus; figures to move forward a lot today.
Long Shot - Barber
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Winningdancer - Flat tire run in last, was flattered by Kickin Kongo victory; her race 2 back can beat these.
Suarez - Speedball did a classic pop and stop in debut; she should be tighter for this second go around.
Long Shot - Siberian Tango
Race 7 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $40,000, Cal-breds, Optional claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Spinning Yarns - Speedball will enjoy the turf rail out 15 feet; don't see anyone who wants to challenge him.
My Maloof Rocker - Garrett Gomez figures to sit a trip; he'll hope someone else does the dirty work up front.
Long Shot - Paloma's Flight
Race 8 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $13,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Desert Siren - Responded well to first try around 2-turns; suspect she does not need the lead to succeed.
If Not for You - Appears a natural to stretch out and compete; Bejarano got to know her last time out.
Long Shot - Halo's Clean Sheet
Best Bet - Streetscape (race 4)
Hollywood Wednesday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/5/$35.40; Long Shots, 8/1/$8.60; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
Hollywood Totals - 183/45/$307.20; Long Shots, 91/5/$59.00; Best Bets, 11/4/$13.20
