Horse Racing: Today at Hollywood Park, Nov. 28

Post Time 11 a.m.

Race 1 - 6 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Claiming $10,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

4 Inner Groove - Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low class; clearly these are her friends tonight.

3 Brown Is Beige - Claimed by Robertino Diodoro and spotted nicely to win; her 2 races at Hollywood were very good.

Long Shot - 2 Smil’n From Above

Race 2 - 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

2 Dreamy Blues - Typical green debut, slow early, fast late; will be double tough with one step of improvement.

3 Sea John’s Spirit - Been away 18 months but returns in a good spot; adds first time Lasix, was well bet in all 3 career starts.

Long Shot - 5 Mesana

Race 3 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $34,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

1 Highly Rated - The team of Rafael Bejarano and Jerry Hollendorfer are at it again; speed from the rail.

5 Tangerine Tickle - Like the cut back in distance; figures to sit midpack and try to rally from the quarter pole in.

Long Shot - 2 Creditcardroulette

Race 4 - 6 furlongs, $100,000 Vernon O. Underwood, 3-year-olds and up

4 Majestic Stride - Outran his 30/1 odds in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint; similar effort would beat these to a pulp.

2 Handsome Mike - Has not been in best form of late; yet the class drop cannot be ignored, this is a much easier spot.

Long Shot - 5 Chosen Miracle

Race 5 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

7 Thunder Code - Big rider switch to Rafael Bejarano for the money shot; his race two back is fast enough to beat these.

8 Wings of Mojave - Turned in a fast closing second last time out; figures to sit in arrears and make one brush.

Long Shot - 2 Hurryhank

Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds

5 In Dad’s Honor - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; from the top Ron Ellis barn.

1 Too Obvious - Showed good early speed in last racing first time for a price tag; suspect that is the strategy again today.

Long Shot - 2 Curvy Kitten

Race 7 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $56,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds

4 Dry Summer - He runs better when covered up early; set the pace in the Twilight Derby, a role he did not relish.

6 Fury Kapcori - He is more than capable of a small upset under Corey Nakatani; he prefers to take back and make one brush.

Long Shot - 1 Pure Loyalty

Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

10 Shand - Prefer to look at her race two back for this $40K price tag; grinder type may inherit the lead late.

4 Princess of Pearl - Tepid chalk in a wide open finale; figures to get an aggressive ride under Edwin Maldonado.

Long Shot - 7 Moon Ride

Best Bet - 7 Thunder Code (race 5)

Hollywood Park Sunday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 17/4/$28.80; Long Shots, 8/2/$22.00; Best Bet, 1/1/$6.60

Hollywood Park Totals - 200/53/$306.60; Long Shots, 96/16/$164.00; Best Bets, 12/6/$30.20

SIMULCAST PLAY OF THE DAY - #1 Flashy American (3/1) in race 11 at Churchill Downs. For scoring purposes, we’ll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Sunday, Speightshill ran second at Fair Grounds paying $2.40 to place and $2.10 to show. Stats - 184/123/$1,008.60; Follow him on Twitter: @richeng4propick
