Oklahoma to face BYU at Dallas' new stadium
Oklahoma and Brigham Young will play the first college football game in the Dallas Cowboys' new $1.1 billion stadium in September.
The Sept. 5 game will be the first in a five-year deal between the Cowboys and ESPN for season kickoff games at the stadium on Labor Day weekend. The Oklahoma-BYU game will be televised in prime time by ESPN or ABC.
Also: Ted Roof, a successful defensive coach at Georgia Tech who struggled as a head coach at Duke, was hired Tuesday as defensive coordinator at Auburn by new coach Gene Chizik.
Roof, 45, spent last season as defensive coordinator at Minnesota.
North Carolina State quarterback Russell Wilson won't need surgery to repair the knee he injured in the Papajohns.com Bowl, which the Wolfpack lost to Rutgers, 29-23.
School officials said an MRI confirmed doctors' initial diagnosis of a sprained knee and a torn posterior cruciate ligament.
North Carolina State women's basketball coach Kay Yow will not return to the team this season due to health issues related to her long fight against cancer.
In a statement released by the school, the Hall of Fame coach said she doesn't have the energy to coach the way she did before the illness. She has missed the past four games.
UNLV's men's and women's swimming teams swept visiting Texas Christian. The men (4-0, 3-0 Mountain West) won 184-113, led by two-event winners Kier Maitland, Andrew Morrell and David Seiler. The women (3-3, 2-3) won 166-134, sparked by Zsu Jakabos with two victories.

Djokovic tumbles early in Aussie Open tuneup
Top-seeded Novak Djokovic was upset in the first round of his season-opening tournament, losing in straight sets to Latvia's Ernests Gublis at the Brisbane International in Brisbane, Australia.
Djokovic, who started the week with a chance to replace Roger Federer at No. 2 in the world rankings, lost 6-4, 6-4 to the 20-year-old Latvian, who finished last year at No. 53.
The tournament is a tuneup for the Australian Open, which begins Jan. 19.
Also: Rafael Nadal routed Fabrice Santoro 6-0, 6-1 in his first ATP Tour match of the year, and Roger Federer and Andy Murray also breezed into the second round of the Qatar Open in Doha, Qatar.
The top-ranked Nadal needed 46 minutes for the win.

Wranglers announce schedule revisions
The Wranglers, who clinched an ECHL playoff berth when the Fresno Falcons folded Dec. 22, announced several revisions to their 2008-09 schedule.
Las Vegas canceled its Jan. 17 game at Stockton and Feb. 13 home game against Fresno. The Wranglers will host Phoenix instead of Utah on Jan. 27 and will play four games in Victoria instead of three the first week of February, adding a Feb. 8 game.
Las Vegas added a home game Feb. 10 against Phoenix and a road game Feb. 14 at Ontario. It will change opponents Feb. 15 from Fresno to Utah, and instead of playing Feb. 27 in Fresno, it will play Feb. 23 in Phoenix.
With the revisions, the Wranglers have 73 regular-season games instead of 72.
The Wranglers also announced right wing Matt Beaudoin has been loaned to Houston of the American Hockey League. Beaudoin has 10 goals and 16 points in 15 games this season for Las Vegas (14-14-3), which plays Friday and Saturday at Utah.
Also: David Beckham had a quiet debut for AC Milan, exiting at halftime before the club beat Hamburg 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
