Men's golfers in second at Arizona tournament
The UNLV men's golf team put up a pair of solid rounds, shooting 2-under 286 and 11-under 277 Sunday to stand second at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.
The Rebels' 36-hole total of 13-under 563 put them three shots behind New Mexico, with host Arizona and Texas Christian tied for third at 8-under 568 in the 15-team event.
Eddie Olson paced 13th-ranked UNLV, shooting 4-under 68 in the first round but falling back a bit in the second with a 73 to tie for eighth at 3-under 141. New Mexico's Nick Geyer and Arizona's Philip Bagdade were tied for the individual lead at 7-under 137.
Ji Moon had UNLV's best round, following a 75 with a 67 for a 2-under 142 total, putting him in a six-way tie for 10th that included fellow Rebel Colby Smith.
The three-round tournament concludes today.
Also: The UNLV baseball team gave up five home runs at windswept Wilson Stadium, losing to Air Force 11-9 to wrap up a three-game Mountain West Conference series.
Scott Berke went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and four RBIs for the Rebels (13-8, 2-4 MWC).

Wranglers come up short against Reign
The Wranglers were held scoreless over the final two periods, losing to the Ontario Reign 3-1 in an ECHL game in Ontario, Calif.
Las Vegas (31-28-8) got a Bret Tyler goal in the final minute of the first period to tie the score at 1. But less than two minutes into the second period, Ontario's Geoff Walker scored what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Also: Jessie Vetter stopped 37 shots for an NCAA record 14th shutout of the season -- and her second in a national championship game -- and Wisconsin won its third NCAA women's hockey title in four years with a 5-0 victory over Mercyhurst in Boston.
Vetter earned a second Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player honor to go with this year's Patty Kazmaier Award as the top player in women's college hockey.

Armstrong set to face two past Tour winners
Lance Armstrong will race against the past two Tour de France winners when the five-day Vuelta of Castilla and Leon begins today in Palencia, Spain.
The seven-time Tour champion will line up against Spanish cyclists Carlos Sastre (2008) and Alberto Contador (2007) for the first time since his return this season after 31/2 years in retirement.
The 37-year-old Armstrong finished 125th in the Milan-San Remo Classic on Saturday, his first race in Europe since his comeback from retirement.
Also: David Beckham was picked for England's 24-man roster for an exhibition against Slovakia on Saturday and a World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on April 1.
The 33-year-old midfielder, whose loan from Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy to Italy's AC Milan was extended last weekend through the end of the Serie A season, is tied with Bobby Moore at 108 international appearances, second on England's career list behind goalkeeper Peter Shilton (125).
Belmont Cat, a 5-year-old New Zealand-bred import trained by John Sadler, emerged victorious in a four-horse photo finish at Santa Anita's Grade II, $150,000 Santa Ana Handicap in Arcadia, Calif.
Belmont Cat edged fast-closing Bel Air Sizzle by a head, with 7-10 favorite Visit another neck back and a head in front of Satan's Circus in a dramatic conclusion of the turf event for fillies and mares at 1 1/8 miles. The winning time was 1 minute, 48.68 seconds.
