Morris twins to enter draft, skip senior years with Kansas
Kansas twins Marcus and Markieff Morris have hired an agent and will forgo their senior seasons with the Jayhawks to enter the NBA Draft.
The forwards from Philadelphia led the team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots last season, when the Jayhawks went 35-3, won the Big 12 regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the regional semifinals as a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Marcus, a second-team All-American, averaged 17.2 points and 7.6 rebounds last season, and Markieff was an honorable-mention All-American after averaging 13.6 points and 8.3 rebounds.
Also: Fresno State hired Rodney Terry as its men's basketball coach.
The hire comes just weeks after Steve Cleveland stepped down to take a job in the athletic department.
Terry had been an assistant under Rick Barnes at Texas the past nine seasons. Terry also had stops at Baylor and North Carolina-Wilmington, among others.
UNLV
Rebels football TV schedule includes seven games on Mtn.
The UNLV football team will appear on The Mtn. seven times this season. Home games against Hawaii (Sept. 7), Southern Utah (Sept. 24), Colorado State (Oct. 29) and San Diego State (Nov. 26), and away games against Wyoming (Oct. 15), New Mexico (Nov. 12) and Air Force (Nov. 19) will be broadcast on the network.
Homecoming (Nov. 5) against new Mountain West Conference member Boise State will be shown on the CBS Sports Network, and the regular-season finale against Texas Christian (Dec. 3) will be broadcast on Versus.
Possible TV broadcasts for nonconference games against Wisconsin, Washington State and UNR have yet to be finalized.
Also: Because of Thursday's high winds, the Rebel tennis team had to move off-campus and indoors to the International Tennis Center, where it dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 36 Brigham Young in Mountain West Conference action. UNLV fell to 12-9 and 1-2 in the league, and the Cougars upped their record to 15-4 and 3-0.

Michigan, Minnesota Duluth reach national hockey final
Michigan didn't back down from North Dakota's normally dominant attack, and goalie Kevin Hunwick did everything but stand on his head.
Now the Wolverines will play for the national hockey title against Minnesota Duluth on Saturday.
Ben Winnett's first-period goal gave defensive-minded Michigan an early edge, and Hunwick made 40 saves for his fourth shutout this season in a 2-0 victory in the NCAA semifinals at St. Paul, Minn.
Scooter Vaughan added an empty-netter with 35.8 seconds left for the Wolverines (29-10-4).
Minnesota Duluth beat Notre Dame 4-3 in the other semifinal.
J.T. Brown had a goal and an assist, and Mike Connolly, Jack Connolly and Kyle Schmidt also scored. The Bulldogs (25-10-6) survived being outshot 15-2 in the third period. Ken Reiter overcame a shaky start to make 31 saves.
Also: Southern University dismissed athletic director Greg LaFleur, who was arrested last weekend in Houston for allegedly soliciting prostitution from an undercover police officer.
"We think the decision is in the best interest of Southern University," Southern Chancellor Kofi Lomotey said.
Top-seeded Mardy Fish of the United States beat Albert Ramos of Spain 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the quarterfinals of the U.S. Clay Court Championships in Houston. Fish, who won the clay-court title in 2006, is the top-ranked American at No. 11 in the world.
Top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki was expecting a challenge at the Family Circle Cup -- and she got it from a 48th-ranked player from the Czech Republic.
The top-seeded Dane had to win two tiebreakers to defeat Barbora Zahlavova Strycova 7-6 (6), 7-6 (9) in a match that lasted more than two hours in Charleston, S.C.
Wayne Rooney will be on the sidelines for Manchester United's FA Cup semifinal match against Manchester City on April 16 after the Football Association upheld the two-match ban handed to Rooney for insulting and abusive language at Upton Park on Saturday.
Las Vegas junior welterweight Jesse Vargas puts his undefeated record on the line tonight at the Star of the Desert Arena in Primm when he meets Vivian Harris in the 10-round main event.
Vargas (14-0, seven knockouts) is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision over Cristian Favela in Los Angeles on Feb. 24. Harris (29-5-1, 19 KOs) has been knocked out in each of his past two fights, the most recent coming Sept. 18 when Victor Ortiz stopped him in the third round.
Longtime Colorado Avalanche defenseman Adam Foote is retiring after 19 years in the NHL. The team captain will have a news conference this morning in Denver.
