INTERNET ONLY: Green Valley clinches Southeast’s final playoff spot in boys tennis

Green Valley's Evan Song went 3-0 in singles as the Gators beat host Silverado 11-7 in boys high school tennis Wednesday.

The victory clinched the Southeast Division's final playoff berth for Green Valley.

At Shadow Ridge, Jeff Elmer and Steven McHargue both went 3-0 in singles to help the Mustangs down Cheyenne, 16-2. The doubles teams of Jacob Trotter and Todd Corbett and Brandon Kurtz and Kevin Mullen both went 3-0.

At Liberty, Marcus Romero was 3-0 in singles in Basic's 17-1 victory.

At Legacy, Michael Bysouth was 2-0 in singles as Cimarron-Memorial beat the Longhorns, 17-1. Kris Kaplan and Noel Sweeney went 2-0 in doubles.

At Coronado, Matt Gapultos and Adam Gratz each went 2-0 in singles as the Cougars defeated Tech, 14-4.

J.C. Pauli was 2-1 in singles for the Roadrunners.

At Foothill, the Falcons defeated Del Sol, 14-4.

At Palo Verde, the Panthers beat The Meadows 12-6 to complete an undefeated regular season.

At Arbor View, the Aggies beat Mojave, 16-2.

GIRLS

At Foothill, Farwa Hussain and Alex Uglow each went 3-0 in singles as Del Sol downed the Falcons, 13-5.

At Coronado, Brooke White and Paige Nisson went 2-0 in doubles to help the Cougars defeat Tech, 18-0.

At Palo Verdo, Maia Bernick and Brittany Gandison each went 2-0 in singles as the Panthers dominated The Meadows, 16-2.

At Liberty, Michelle Calica went 2-0 in singles to lead the Patriots past Basic, 11-7.

At Shadow Ridge, Danielle Whittle and Nisha Khilnani went 2-0 in doubles to help the Mustangs beat Cheyenne, 12-6. Heather Tooth and Mariah Martinez were 1-0 in doubles for Shadow Ridge. Petra Kovolkiva was 3-0 in singles for Cheyenne.

At Silverado, Green Valley beat the Skyhawks, 12-6.

Silverado's Nicole and Kriten Santero went 3-0 in doubles.

At Arbor View, the Aggies shut out Mojave, 18-0.
