Lane propels 51s’ win with two homers

Jason Lane hit two home runs, knocked in six runs and went 5-for-5 to carry the 51s to a 14-4 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Thursday in a Pacific Coast League game at Colorado Springs.

Lane had a three-run double in the first inning, a solo homer in the third and a two-run shot in the eighth. He also singled twice.

Buck Coats supplied a three-run homer and Randy Ruiz added a solo shot, giving him 10 homers for the season.

Las Vegas left-hander Fabio Castro (3-1) went six innings for the win, allowing four runs and five hits. T.J. Beam (two innings) and Bryan Bullington (one) added scoreless relief.

The teams continue the series at 6:05 p.m. today.
