Las Vegas Hilton installs Kansas as 1-point favorite

The Las Vegas Hilton has installed the Kansas Jayhawks as 1-point favorites over the Memphis Tigers in the NCAA title game Monday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Kansas (36-3) defeated North Carolina, the tournament's top seed, 84-66 in the second of Saturday's Final Four semifinal games. Memphis (38-1) beat UCLA 78-63 in the early game.

The Jayhawks and the Tigers had three common opponents this year in Southern California, Arizona and Oklahoma.

Kansas beat USC 59-55 on Dec. 2 in Los Angeles, and the Tigers beat the Trojans 62-58 in overtime on Dec. 4 in Memphis, Tenn.

The Jayhawks beat Arizona 76-72 in overtime on Nov. 25 in Lawrence, Kan., and Memphis rolled over the Wildcats 76-63 on Dec. 29 in Memphis.

The Tigers beat Oklahoma 63-53 in Norman, Okla., on Nov. 15, and Kansas routed the Sooners 85-55 in a Big 12 Conference game in Lawrence on Jan. 14.

The total for Monday's title game is 145 points.
