Legacy football player Ricks commits to San Diego State

Legacy High School senior defensive end Randy Ricks said he made an oral commitment Saturday to play college football at San Diego State.

The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound Ricks said the Aztecs recruited him at outside linebacker. He picked San Diego State over scholarship offers from Idaho and New Mexico.

"For one, it's close to where I live," said Ricks, a first-team All-Northwest League pick as a junior. "Two, I love the weather. It's the best place in the world, in my opinion."
