Miller sparks 18-3 surge that pushes Lady Rebels past Air Force on road

Danielle Miller scored six of her career-high 24 points during a late 18-3 run to help lift the UNLV women’s basketball team to a 72-65 victory over Air Force in Colorado Springs on Saturday.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for UNLV (4-10, 1-1 Mountain West).

Air Force (1-11, 0-2) led 53-46 with 6:06 to play before Miller scored six straight points and Réjane Vérin made a layup to put the Lady Rebels ahead with 3:26 left.

The Falcons answered with a tying free throw, but Aley Rohde scored four points and blocked a shot over the next three possessions. Vérin then made another layup, and UNLV converted all eight free-throw attempts in the final minute to put the game away.

“We did a good job when we got in trouble and fell behind,” Lady Rebels coach Kathy Olivier said. “We got together and had some good execution and some things went our way. Good things happen when you think positive, and we were able to use that to pull out the road win at the end.”

UNLV returns to the road to play UNR in Reno on Wednesday.
