Mills, Stansberry stand out as 51s dominate Padres
Brad Mills pitched six shutout innings and Craig Stansberry had a home run and three RBIs to lead the 51s to a 10-1 Pacific Coast League win over the Tucson Padres on Friday night in Tucson, Ariz.
Mills (5-5) worked around four hits and five walks while striking out eight, lowering his ERA to 2.87. Three relievers worked an inning each to cap the five-hitter.
Stansberry led off the game with a home run, his second of the season, and had a sacrifice fly to cap the scoring in Las Vegas' four-run second inning. He also had an RBI single in the fifth.
Manny Mayorson's two-run single highlighted the second-inning surge for the 51s (34-28), who totaled 16 hits. David Cooper led the way with a 4-for-5 night, including a double to lead off Las Vegas' two-run third.
Travis Snider hit his second homer of the season, a solo shot in the fourth.
