IndyCar parade to close block of Strip

One block of Las Vegas Boulevard will shut down briefly at 8 p.m. Thursday for the IZOD IndyCar Series Parade.

The 15-minute closure will extend from Flamingo Road to Tropicana Avenue while more than 34 race cars lap slowly around the area. Also, the southbound lanes of the Strip between Flamingo Road and Bellagio Drive will have one to three lanes closed to traffic from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The parade celebrates Sunday's inaugural IZOD IndyCar World Championships at the Las Vegas Speedway.
