Night of Fire at Bullring includes visit by Bigfoot
Many racetracks look forward to the summer months when business picks up.
This is the time of year when, because of the notorious Southern Nevada heat, Las Vegas Motor Speedway shuts down.
But not until its eve of Independence Day extravaganza at the Bullring.
The annual Night of Fire will occur Tuesday, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the racing beginning an hour later.
Included will be a 76-lap NASCAR Super Late Model feature. A 50-lap Late Model feature, with $1,000 to the winner, was added to the schedule.
Famed Monster Truck Bigfoot will be part of the festivities, which include a dollar menu and fireworks at 10:20 p.m.
This will be the last night of racing at the Bullring until the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series returns Aug. 18.
The Strip at LVMS also gets ready to take a break until that weekend.
First, though, the Tony Rowe Enterprises and Silver State Refrigeration Pro Index Series is at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Competition takes place in the Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle classes.
The Strip also will host Dodge Midnight Mayhem street-legal racing at 7 p.m. today and July 6.
