Palo Verde edges Shadow Ridge in boys volleyball

Adam Nieman had 46 assists and eight aces to lead Palo Verde's boys volleyball team to a 19-25, 25-15, 25-22, 20-25, 15-9 victory over visiting Shadow Ridge on Thursday.

Tyler Capko had 16 kills and nine digs, Clayton Worthen 15 kills and Conner Metcalfe nine kills for the Panthers.

Preston Simper had 19 kills and Jeff Elmer 18 digs for Shadow Ridge.

• Sierra Vista 3, Spring Valley 0 -- At Spring Valley, Brent Waldron had six kills and five assists and Joe White 12 kills to lead the Lions over the Grizzlies 25-28, 25-15, 25-8.

Zach Waldron had 30 assists and two blocks for Sierra Vista.

Eric James had six blocks and six kills and Tristan Gonzalez four aces, four digs and four assists for Spring Valley.

• Basic 3, Foothill 0 -- At Foothill, Jared Mackelprang had 11 kills and three blocks to lead the Wolves over the Falcons 25-12, 25-19, 25-15.

Anthony Gambone added 15 assists and Michael Lunen 12 assists for Basic.

Jordan Monga had four kills and nine assists for Foothill.

• Green Valley 3, Del Sol 0 -- At Del Sol, Chris Mortenson had nine kills to lead the Gators over the Dragons 25-29, 28-26, 25-19.

Taylor Mitchell added 19 assists and eight aces and Cameron Olsen five kills for Green Valley. Bryan Grenier had four kills and three aces and Harrison Dennis four kills for the Dragons.

• Cimarron-Memorial 3, Legacy 0 -- At Cimarron, Dustin Larsen had five kills, five aces and five digs to lead the Spartans to a 25-16, 25-9, 25-15 win over the Longhorns.

Matt Mortensen added five kills and three digs and Triton Manumaleuna five digs for Cimarron.

• Centennial 3, Mojave 0 -- At Centennial, Seth Mitchell dished out 15 assists in the Bulldogs' 25-18, 25-13, 25-15 win over Mojave.

Taylor Deaver had 10 digs and Cameron Olsen and Drew Smith five kills each for Centennial.

• Silverado 3, Liberty 0 -- At Liberty, Trevik Jenkins had 12 kills to lead the Skyhawks past the Patriots 25-9, 25-9, 25-12.

Nick McArthur-Reynolds had 12 assists and eight aces for Silverado David Fuentes had seven assists and two kills for Liberty.

• Coronado 3, Tech 0 -- At Tech, Jace Stoker's five kills helped the Cougars to a 25-7, 25-14, 25-13 win over the Roadrunners.

• Arbor View 3, Cheyenne 0 -- At Cheyenne, Nathan Stuart had 14 kills to lead the Aggies over the Desert Shields 25-23, 25-15, 25-10.

Zac Reese added eight kills and Landon Steele four kills for Arbor View.

Conner Patterson and Brandon Jackson each had four kills for Cheyenne.
