Prep baseball stars head to all-star games

A handful of area high school baseball standouts are set to play in all-star games this weekend in San Diego.
Las Vegas High catcher Bryce Harper and Bonanza senior infielder Kris Bryant will play Sunday in the Aflac All-American High School Baseball Classic at Petco Park. Fox Sports West (Cox 49) will air the game live at 5 p.m.
Harper, who will forgo his final two seasons of high school to play next year at the College of Southern Nevada, is a nominee for the Jackie Robinson Award, presented to the Aflac National High School Player of the Year. The winner will be announced today.
Rancho juniors Eric Holdren and Zak Qualls are set to pitch in the Perfect Game Showcase at 1:30 p.m. today at the University of San Diego.
