NFR, accompanying events set attendance records

The National Finals Rodeo has set an attendance record at Thomas & Mack Center, drawing 177,565 fans during the 10-day run and breaking the record of 176,558 in 2013.

The NFR ended Saturday, selling out 280 consecutive dates at Thomas & Mack.

The Cowboy Christmas Gift Show and Cowboy FanFest also set record attendance at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the 10 days.

Attendance hit 200,179, surpassing the previous record attendance of 196,856 set in 2013.

The NFR attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding, as the more than 120 competitors compete for a share of the $6.375 million purse.
