Sky Sox deal 51s seventh straight loss

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox jumped on left-hander Brett Cecil and sent the 51s to their seventh consecutive loss, 17-3 in a Pacific Coast League game Tuesday in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Cecil (0-1), making his first start since being demoted by Toronto on Thursday, was tagged for 11 runs (10 earned) and 13 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

The 24-year-old gave up three home runs, including the first of two blasts by Charlie Blackmon, a three-run drive that chased Cecil from the game with Las Vegas trailing 11-1.

The 51s (9-11) had 13 hits but left 11 runners on base. Darin Mastroianni went 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored two runs.

Las Vegas returns for an eight-game homestand that begins Thursday with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Sacramento River Cats at Cashman Field.
