UNLV routs Arizona 79-64
Wink Adams hit seven 3-pointers and scored 25 points as UNLV routed Arizona 79-64 today at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Rebels (10-2) blew the game open with a 15-0 run early in the second half, extending their lead to 55-36.
Tre’Von Willis finished with 19 points. Willis made consecutive 3-pointers to put UNLV up 67-48 with 7:11 left.
Adams hit a 3 just before the halftime buzzer to lift Rebels to a 32-27 lead. Adams made his first three 3-point shots of the second half, and freshman center Brice Massamba scored inside to put the Rebels ahead 45-36 with 16 minutes remaining.
Rene Rougeau’s rebound basket gave UNLV its largest lead, 73-50, with 5:22 left. Rougeau had 12 points, nine rebounds, six blocked shots and four steals.
Chase Budinger scored 22 points and 6-foot-10-inch Jordan Hill had 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Wildcats (7-3). The Rebels won their fifth consecutive game and snapped a two-game losing streak to Arizona.

UNLV 32, Arizona 27 — Senior forward Joe Darger scored eight points and Wink Adams hit a 3-pointer just before the buzzer to lift UNLV to a 32-27 halftime lead over Arizona today at the Thomas & Mack Center. Kendall Wallace made two 3-pointers as the Rebels (9-2) took a 16-10 lead eight minutes into the game. Tre’Von Willis’ 3 from the corner put UNLV up 24-15 with 6:44 remaining.
Chase Budinger scored 11 points and 6-foot-10-inch Jordan Hill had six points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats (7-2). Rene Rougeau had six points and five blocked shots for the Rebels.
