First-half run lifts Wyoming to victory over Lady Rebels

The UNLV women's basketball team lost to Wyoming 77-56 Saturday in a Mountain West Conference game in Laramie, Wyo.

Wyoming (21-6, 11-3 MWC) took control with a 20-8 run to end the first half, turning a 14-13 edge into a 34-21 lead. The Lady Rebels (10-19, 3-12) trailed by double digits the rest of the way.

The Lady Rebels outscored Wyoming 40-20 in the paint but went 1-for-13 from 3-point range, while the Cowgirls hit 10 of their 26 3-pointers.

Ta'Nitra Byrd led UNLV with 16 points, and Kelli Thompson added 15. Chaundra Sewell had 17 points for Wyoming, and Aubrey Vandiver had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Cowgirls.
