Lady Rebels fall to Wyoming on road
The UNLV women's basketball team was dealt two losses Wednesday night - one on the scoreboard and one with a key starter.
The Lady Rebels lost to Wyoming 76-54 in a Mountain West game at Laramie, Wyo., and second-leading scorer Alana Cesarz suffered a first-half knee injury that prevented her from returning.
UNLV (6-12, 2-3 MW) trailed 41-29 at halftime, and a 12-4 Wyoming run early in the second half put the Lady Rebels in a 58-38 hole with 13:53 remaining. Wyoming (14-4, 3-2) pushed the lead to 25 twice, and UNLV got no closer than 18 the rest of the game.
Kelli Thompson led UNLV with 18 points. Cesarz, fourth in the conference at 15.6 points per game, will be evaluated today when the team returns home.
