Thompson, Olivier record milestones in Lady Rebels’ win over Boise State
Kelli Thompson scored a career-high 33 points, and coach Kathy Olivier claimed her 300th win as the UNLV women's basketball team beat Boise State 75-61 on Saturday at Cox Pavilion.
The Lady Rebels (8-13, 4-3 Mountain West) won consecutive games for the first time this season, bolstered by a big edge in free throws. UNLV hit 30 of 44, while the Broncos (10-10, 3-4) were 9-for-16. UNLV also had a 56-41 rebounding edge, including 15 from Rejane Verin.
Thompson shot 50 percent from the floor (9 of 18), made 13 of 18 free throws and had 10 rebounds. Danielle Miller added 14 points for the Lady Rebels, and Briana Charles came off the bench to contribute seven points, six assists and five rebounds.
Olivier's milestone comes in her fifth year with UNLV, her alma mater, after spending 15 seasons at UCLA.
