Actor plays against type in Reid portrayal

Bud Jones, an actor from suburban Chicago known as a card-carrying conservative, has the job of portraying Sen. Harry Reid in an upcoming HBO movie.

"Every one of my friends mentioned it. They said, 'Oh my God, how can you play Harry Reid?' " Jones said in an interview that appeared over the weekend in the Park Ridge (Ill.) Herald-Advocate.

The Reid character will appear in a single scene in "Too Big to Fail," a movie set to air next month about the 2008 financial crisis. The film centers on then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who is played by William Hurt.
