Acura of Las Vegas welcomes TSX

Acura, the luxury division of Honda, has unleashed the TSX Sport Wagon, and Acura of Las Vegas has gained national attention by becoming the first dealership in the country to sell the model.

Powered by a 2.4-liter i-Vtec with 201 horsepower and 170 pounds-feet of torque, the TSX Sport Wagon is highlighted by strong throttle response and excellent acceleration.

The two-wheel drive vehicle delivers mileage of 22 city and 30 highway, and has room for five, to meet the needs of a diverse customer base, from growing families to soccer moms to on-the-run retirees.

"The first TSX was presold weeks before it arrived," said dealership General Manager Tim Donnelly. "We had a good year in 2010, and the addition of the TSX wagon fills a huge market for us. We're really happy to have it in our fleet of vehicles."

Donnelly said the new TSX Sport Wagon is well-priced starting at $31,800. An upgraded tech package is available for $35,470. He said dealership sales were up 35 percent in 2010, compared with 2009, and he anticipates that figures will increase more with the addition of the TSX Sport Wagon.

"The 2011 adds a great sense of energy to our store," said Donnelly, 42, who has been exposed to the industry since the age of 5. "I have seen countless new models over the years, and the TSX wagon is one of my favorites."

Louie Doblado, who has worked with Acura for 21 years, said the TSX Sport Wagon adds an exciting element to the dealership.

"It's adds a fresh and exciting vehicle to our already-popular TSX lineup," said Doblado. "The tech package in the TSX wagon is unreal and includes Song-by-Voice, where the (voice-command) system plays a song, artist or album. It's definitely a cut above, that's for sure."

In addition, the TSX tech package includes iPod, Bluetooth wireless audio, and an 8-inch LED back-lit navigation screen.

"The sportiness of the vehicle is absolutely unbelievable," Doblado said. "I would definitely rate the TSX wagon one of the top new Acura models in the past two decades."

Sales consultant Mary Weisbrod, who has been in the car business for 24 years, recorded the first sale of the Sport Wagon.

"The buyers had a TSX before," said Weisbrod. "They were impressed with the multifaceted offerings in the TSX wagon including a fabulous sound system, the extra cargo space in the back and the navigation system."

Situated at 7000 W. Sahara Ave., Acura of Las Vegas is part of the Super Store Auto Group, which has five dealerships in Las Vegas and 26 throughout the nation.
