Aliante meets buyer’s requirements

Melinda Vereen found her new home in Aliante, a master-planned community in North Las Vegas, after a search that was briefer and less arduous than the first-time home buyer had anticipated.

Vereen was in the market for a three-bedroom home with an attached garage. It had to be in her price range and located in a community that suited her lifestyle, she said.

Vereen said she embarked on the search not at all confident she'd be able to find a house that met all her needs and wants. Realistically, she expected the quest would end with her settling for a home that met many -- but not all -- of the specifications on her list, Vereen said.

To her surprise, the house-hunter found a residence at Aliante that satisfied all her requirements.

"I was looking all over," Vereen said. "I had never really come into Aliante, although I had heard about it. I went to an event at a bank in the community when I first saw it and thought, 'Wow, this is really nice.'"

Vereen said she initially thought a community like Aliante might be beyond her budget, but she asked her Realtor to see what was available in her price range and learned that owning an Aliante home was attainable for her.

"It was unbelievable," she said. "I moved in just before the holidays. It was my Christmas present last year."

Vereen said she likes to take her daughter for walks along the trails and often takes her to the community's 20-acre Nature Discovery Park.

"We love to go over to the park to see the ducks," she said.

Vereen said she has enjoyed learning about Aliante and watching the community grow around her.

She said that each week she finds something new she likes about Aliante, or finds a new friend who lives nearby.

"There is just so much to discover. But I'm having a wonderful time, taking my time to see it all," she said.

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises, LLC, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Pulte Homes.

Encompassing more than 1,900 acres, the community will collectively have as many as 7,500 homes and a population of about 20,000.

Home builders at Aliante include Astoria Homes, Del Webb, KB Home, Lennar, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes.

Home prices range from the mid-$200,000s to the low $600,000s. In addition, Del Webb is building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante community.

Aliante is bordered roughly by Grand Teton Drive, Centennial Parkway, Decatur Boulevard and Clayton Street. Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, intersects Aliante, providing access to Interstate 15 and U.S. Highway 95.

Currently under construction at the intersecton of I-215 and Aliante Parkway is the Aliante Station Hotel & Casino.

About 428 acres in Aliante are designated for recreational and public purposes, including the Aliante Golf Club, the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, Deer Springs Park, Aviary Park, more than 24 miles of lighted concrete trails and linear parks and an arroyo.

To reach the Aliante Information Gallery, take U.S. Highway 95 to the I-215 Exit East. Head east on I-215, exit at Aliante Parkway and proceed south. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
