Sharron Angle has named a new communications director for her U.S. Senate campaign, saying he would manage rapid response to counter attacks from U.S. Sen. Harry Reid.
Hiring Jarrod Agen completes Angle's top communications team, according to her campaign.
Agen's experience includes working for the Ohio Republican Party during former President George W. Bush's re-election campaign in 2004.
He also was a regional communications director for Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign a couple of years ago.
More recently, Agen was communications director in California for Steve Poizner, the Republian who lost the GOP gubernatorial primary to Meg Whitman.
Agen will oversee Angle's public and media relations strategy along with running the campaign's rapid response, according to her campaign.
He'll work with Angle's press secretary Jerry Stacy and new deputy communications director Ciara Matthews.
Jordan Gehrke was serving as interim communications director. He'll now focus on his job as deputy campaign manager, Stacy said.
"We are excited to fill out our communications shop with an experienced professional like Jarrod Agen, whose experience with press operations on high-profile national races and state races will be a major asset to our campaign," Stacy said in a statement.
