AROUND TOWN: Free Wendy’s hamburgers offered today in downtown Las Vegas

In the mood for a free Wendy's hamburger?

Wendy's Great Taste Tour will make a stop 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, Sept. 4, in downtown Las Vegas. The event, to be held at Centennial Plaza, at the corner of 4th and Lewis streets, will feature music, prizes and art for the community.

Local artist Rick Quemado and The Art Institute of Las Vegas will have the opportunity to win $25,000 in the Watch My Wendy, My Way art contest for Quemado's artistic interpretation of the classic Wendy's icon, inspired by the spirit and traditions of the Las Vegas community. Quemado's creation will be up against artists from 23 cities across the country.

A total of 1,000 hamburgers and 2,000 Wendy's gift cards will be given away at the event. The Las Vegas stop is one of 25 stops the Wendy's Mobile Kitchen will be making across the country.
