AROUND TOWN: Henderson’s Le Golosita offers Strip dining at off-Strip prices

Sure, restaurants in the hotels on Las Vegas Boulevard offer some of the best dining in the world, but who wants to spend a night fighting the traffic, driving in circles in a parking garage and walking a mile to wait for a table? And who can afford to pay the bill once the check comes? Not me. That’s why I was excited to hear that the owners and operators of Zeffirino Italian Ristoriante in The Venetian opened Le Golosita at 9500 S. Eastern Ave., Suite 180. The prices are a lot cheaper than the famed Strip eatery, but the food is virtually the same. Breads, sauces, pasta, pastries and gelato are made at a preparation kitchen and bakery for the International Restaurant Group's multiple restaurants.

Items range from $4.50 to $22.50, and entrees are $9.95 to $16.95.

Omero Bellu, Le Golosita’s executive chef, spent nine years at Zeffirino’s after working in Italy and owning his own restaurant in Europe.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The
bakery opens at 8 a.m. daily.

Takeout and delivery is available from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

For delivery or information, call 216-4080.

Don't miss happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. daily. Specials include free pizza, Italian specialties and half-price well drinks and draft beers.
For information, visit Le Golosita's Web site.
