AROUND TOWN: Lied Discovery Children’s Museum a great treat for kids

When the mercury tips up over 100 and your kids still crave play, where can you turn? Try the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, 833
Las Vegas Blvd. North.

If you haven’t been in a while, you’re in for a treat. In addition to the new touring exhibit Torn From Home: My Life as a Refugee, there’s a water play table where you decide the direction of the flow before you let your rubber duck loose. There’s also the hurricane tube, where kids can stand inside and experience winds that would topple Toto. Don’t miss the bubble tables, the baby oasis play area or the pulley system, where kids of all ages can hoist themselves up and take in the museum from on high.

Admission is $8 for adults and $7 for kids. Annual memberships are available.

Two-year old Juliet lets her duck loose on the maze she made with her family.
