AROUND TOWN: Spirit Therapies looking for donations to build new horse stall

A Las Vegas-based nonprofit is looking for a donation to help four-legged friends help two-legged friends.

Spirit Therapies, an organization where children and adults with a wide range of physical and mental disabilities connect with horses, recently acquired 7-year-old mustang Oliver. Oliver's 83-year-old "mother," Jean, both shown right, donated Oliver to Spirit Therapies and plans to continue to volunteer with the organization.

Spirit Therapies needs to buy a 16-foot panel and a 12-foot panel with a gate to complete Oliver's new stall. The total cost to relocate Oliver is $500, and the organization is asking for donations of any size, from $1 up, to help complete the project this week.

Donations can be sent to Laurie Willmott, Executive Director, Spirit Therapies, 9140 La Madre Way, Las Vegas, NV 89149 or go on the Web site www.SpiritTherapies.org. Select the Donation Button to Pay Pal and make a donation.

For more information on Spirit Therapies, read the recent View article on the nonprofit.
